Long time no see!
Towards the end of my study at INSEAD, I finally have the time to tell you about INSEAD in Singapore! (I didn’t go to “Fonty”, so I don’t have photos of that campus).
This is the reception and lobby – you can see nice armchairs that hold memories of thousands of everyday INSEAD conversations about classes, home tasks, jobs and entrepreneurship.
To the left you will find a set of amphitheaters dedicated entirely to Executive MBAs and leadership programs.
Same place, but this view is from the second floor.
In the picture below, you can see the names of prominent INSEAD alumni who have contributed substantial funds to the development of the school.
In-Store is the INSEAD book store with laundry and a postal facilities as well =). You can also buy INSEAD branded items such as t-shirts.
This is our courtyard where the funniest events take place especially during the National Weeks’ bidding and charity events.
To the right of the lobby is the library. Our campus must have been designed by very extravagant architects, as there is a staircase to the second floor built inside the library. It can at times, be hard to concentrate on studies when there are recuiting events or other happenings on the second floor.
The reception:
Entrance to the Auditorium – the biggest amphitheater on campus.
The walk along the second floor’s corridor. To the left you will be able to see a lot of open and closed break-out rooms. To the right are the student lockers.
This is a closed Break-out Room (BOR). A lot of the on-campus interviews are held here in P4.
These are the open BORs.
We also have individual workspace on campus:
This is the MBA area and a long staircase to the third floor for fitness-lovers.
Our Sodexo canteen:
Students’ pigeon holes. Lord, I haven’t checked mine for months now!
The canteen’s second floor is reserved for Executive MBAs.
Eli Lily’s courtyard is probably the most beautiful place on campus. When it’s not raining, students spend most of their lunch time here.
Keria desk is the desk in the middle of the MBA corner connecting the three main amphis where P1-P2-ers study – Mork, 102 and Roskothen.
This is the entrance to amphi 102 – I spent my first 4 months at INSEAD almost entirely here.
To the right you will see a bulletin board. It used to have the so-called “Dean’s list” published here. When it appeared for the first time, someone decided to make a joke and post the names of all remaining students as the “Waiting List to the Dean’s list”. This tells you a lot about INSEAD’s non-elitist culture =).
The bar:
Here you see boilers with free tea and coffee. Not very drinkable =).
Kicker and the famous gong that’s central to INSEAD’s long standing tradition of ringing the bell in “Fonty” or a gong in “Singy” to notify other students that you just received a ding from an employer. People at the bar should then offer you a drink as a consolation.
Besides what I have shown you, there is a gym and 4 other floors at INSEAD where professors and the MBA administration are located.
This is the view of the campus from the outside:
